The element only mounts differently in the housing than the ones with a metal housing. It does the same job and has the same gallon capacity as the 750 but sits on the counter top and hooks to the faucet. We have adaptors available that will allow it to even be connected to an outdoor hose connection. When we lived in the Philippines the kitchen faucet had just a standard hose connection but we used the Multi-Pure on it.
